The Fundy Interchurch Food Bank, a member of the Kentville, New Minas and Area Council of Churches is a volunteer organization that is committed to providing emergency food relief to individuals and families in an area generally comprising part of Greenwich, Port Williams, New Minas, Kentville, Coldbrook and surrounding areas. We regularly support 40+ individuals and families each week. As a Christian community we strive live our faith as a supportive church community. Our purpose is to serve those who are in need and our volunteers work to keep our shelves full and our doors open. We are thankful for the community support and donations for without them we could not feed the hungry in our community. Our leadership is comprised of representatives from most of the local churches in the areas of Alton, Aldershot, Coldbrook, Kentville and New Minas. There are Directors who meet regularly to manage the running of the Food Bank and a contingent of dedicated volunteers who receive food, stock shelves, pack food, complete intake assessments, and manage the office as well as inventory supplies. |

The New Minas Baptist Church has gratefully provided us with space for almost 22 years in a building which will be demolished soon. We have plan to build a stand alone facility that will provide much needed food storage, working and service areas in a healthy and up to date environment. We need your help to raise the funds for this In the interim, we have moved into a rental space in the Lions Club Hall in Kentville.

We can set up a regular giving gift through our banks. This is just like a regular transfer of funds from your account to ours. This way we can better budget through our lean times and do better food planning. |
It is easy to do. Contact our office, let us know the time and date of your drive, your intended target area and population. Promote the event through notices, media or posters. |

Our director volunteers come from local church representatives and members at large. Our on-site volunteers are committed to one shift a week, once per month. We also need volunteers who are willing to do regular food pick-ups and special deliveries as required. We also need volunteers for special events. |
We receive fresh produce and pantry storage items. We have a constant requirement for bread, pasta, rice, milk products, eggs, frozen meat, canned vegetables, canned soups, and personal toiletry items like tooth paste, shampoo etc. If you are donating to a food drive, not directly to our food bank, non-perishable items are best. |
